James has been into music since he was a little kid. He began studying classical piano at the age of 7 then switched over to guitar when he was 11.
After studying Jazz guitar at Humber College, he decided to pursue a career as a music producer. His first major production gig was with Skye Sweetnam through Capitol records, and from 2002 till 2012, he was signed to EMI publishing.
James has written and produced for Roz Bell, The Standstills, Jeff Beadle, the Stereos, Craig Stickland, Honors, The Dare Nots and Esthero. James also produced the debut album for Down with Webster that went platinum in Canada.
In addition to his work as a music producer, James has also composed music for film and television, including the TV shows Wayside High School and Instant Star.
