Andrew Schoettler is a drummer and music educator based in Guelph, Ontario, with a passion for helping students of all ages discover their own voice on the drums. Known for his dynamic groove and grounded musicality, Andrew draws from jazz, funk, and fusion to create engaging lessons that build both technical skill and creative expression.
Currently performing across southern Ontario, Andrew is also the founder and host of the Silence Jazz Jam — a monthly event that fosters collaboration, improvisation, and community among local musicians. His teaching approach is rooted in the same values: creating a welcoming, encouraging environment where students feel confident to explore rhythm, develop their sound, and grow as musicians.
Andrew studied music at the University of Guelph alongside earning a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, and has honed his craft through years of live performance, ensemble work, and mentorship from respected Canadian musicians. Whether working with beginners or advanced players, he tailors lessons to each student’s goals, balancing structure with the freedom to experiment.
