Gabrielle Santin has been playing and performing music in the Guelph area for the last 10 years. Gabrielle learned much of her trade from JamSchool programs and we are thrilled to bring her on board to share her musical knowledge with our up and coming students.
Gabrielle has performed extensively with bands such as “Sometime Tomorrow” and is currently a member of JamSchool’s flagship A Capella group “Feedback”. She has performed on the main stage at the Hillside Festival and many other venues and festivals like, The River Run Center, Toronto Sing Festival, Gain Music Festival, Hillside Inside, and the Kiwanis Music Festival.
She plays piano, guitar, bass, ukulele, and has fronted several bands as lead singer. She has extensive experience teaching kids from scratch as she has been heavily involved with teaching at JamSchool’s rock camps over the past several years.
Gabrielle currently studies under Steve Thoms, Emily Aussem, and Audrey Coates and is preparing her applications to post secondary schools to further her music education.
Here is what Gabrielle has to say about teaching at JamSchool:
I try to analyze each student individually and understand their personality, the way in which they learn, and their musical tastes and personal music goals. Learning music should be fun and relaxed while also working towards attainable milestones. I encourage my students to work towards performance opportunities whether they take the form of showing off to mum and dad at home or stepping on the big stage at a JamSchool show. Playing your music for others is a great way to motivate and improve practice at home. JamSchool offers so many great performance opportunities for all students and I am thrilled to be able to help my students take advantage of this in the same way I have.
